Team Blair tackles Kusam Klimb
The Rehabilitation Department staff of Campbell River Hospital joined together as Team Blair to raise $5,000 for ALS.
Blair’sTeam did the annual Kusam Klimb on Saturday, completing the 23 km backcountry endurance event up Mount H’Kusam in Sayward. The husband of one of the department staff, Blair, has ALS and his wife has recently gone off work to take care of him. Funds will go to the ALS Society of BC (ALSBC) to support Camp Alohi Lani, a camp for children with a parent with ALS. ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease) is a progressive, terminal neuromuscular disease in which nerve cells die and leave voluntary muscles paralyzed. Every day, two to three Canadians die of the disease. Help Team Blair by donating through the ALSBC website under Events/Team Blair or at the Rehab Department, Campbell River Hospital. Tax receipts will be given.
